Halla Tómasdóttir is the president of Iceland after finishing with 34.1% support in the elections held on June 1st. Tómasdóttir earned the highest support in all constituencies in Iceland. Tómasdóttir became the 7th President of Iceland on August 1st, 2024.

Tómasdóttir’s successful career spans human resources management, teaching, entrepreneurship, and leadership both in Iceland and internationally. She has a strong international network and extensive experience in catalyzing change across stakeholders and generations, working with people across business, education, activism/artivism, and government.

For the past six years, Tómasdóttir has served as the CEO of The B Team, where she has worked together with prominent global leaders on advancing sustainability, equality and accountability in leadership. The B Team believes in business as a force for good in the world and advocates for fair and transparent rules for business and our economy. Tómasdóttir is a popular international speaker and has stepped onto the TED stage four times and been a keynote speaker for the world's leading companies and conferences.

Tómasdóttir is married to Björn Skúlason, a health chef who runs his own company, just björn, which produces and markets Nordic natural and healthy products. Tómasdóttir and Björn have two children, Auður Ína and Tómas Bjartur who are both in university.
