Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, known professionally as Halsey, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and a strong advocate for various causes. Having gained attention from self-released music on social media platforms, she was signed by Astralwerks in 2014 and released her debut EP, "Room 93," later that year.

Since then, Halsey has released several successful studio albums, including "Badlands" (2015), "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom" (2017), "Manic" (2020), and "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" (2021). Notably, her third studio album, "Manic," became her best-selling album worldwide, and its lead single, "Without Me," topped the Billboard Hot 100 and received diamond certification. Moreover, her fourth album, "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power" (2021), produced by Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, received a generally positive reception.

Throughout her career, Halsey has achieved significant recognition. She has won several awards, including three Billboard Music Awards, a Billboard Women in Music Award, an American Music Award, and nominations for three Grammy Awards. In addition, she was included on Time's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2020. Beyond her music, Halsey has been open about her experiences with bipolar disorder, has co-directed several music videos, and has made appearances on films and TV shows. Furthermore, Halsey has been involved in suicide prevention awareness, sexual assault victim advocacy, racial justice protests, and women's rights, using her platform to advocate for these causes.

As of 2021, she has sold over one million albums and received over six billion streams in the United States. Halsey's music, which focuses on her personal experiences and storytelling, has been acclaimed for its distinctive singing voice and has earned her a significant fan base and she is noted for her distinctive indie style of singing. Halsey has also collaborated with artists like Justin Bieber, BTS, Juice WRLD, Yungblud, and Travis Barker. One such notable collaboration was with The Chainsmokers on their single "Closer" in 2016, which topped the charts in the US and ten other countries.
