Digital Content Creator & Social Activist Spotlighting Salary Transparency

When Hannah Williams found out she was being underpaid by more than $20,000 at her senior data analyst job, she decided to take pay equity into her own hands. In an effort to normalize pay transparency, she began asking strangers on the street in Washington D.C. how much they make and posted the videos on TikTok. The result was Salary Transparent Street, a company that provides people with pay equity resources, including a database and newsletter to educate the community on market research, salary negotiation, and labor laws to understand workers' rights. Her goal: to combat discriminatory tendencies, close marginalizing pay gaps and get people what they deserve to be paid.

Williams, who holds degrees from Northern Virginia Community College and Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, has testified on behalf of D.C.'s Pay Range Act, interviewed people in 23 states, and made $1 million in brand deals. The content creator, who was named to Firbes' 30 Under 30 in 2024, also launched a podcast, Two Cents, with her co-worker James Daniels where they share candid insights on money, marriage, and careers.
