Hansel New is Director of Sustainability at Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), a farmer-owned cooperative and one of the world’s leading dairy food companies. In this role, he leads DFA’s sustainability strategy, supports business sustainability priorities, and supports commercial operations and farmer-owners in conservation activities. He actively supports a vibrant and resilient dairy community through task force and committee work and he serves on the Executive Committee for the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform.

Previously, New worked on initiatives at Danone North America, WhiteWave Foods, and So Delicious, cultivating a proven track record in responsible sourcing, sustainable packaging, and brand building.

New holds a BS in Environmental Health & Safety from Oregon State University and an MBA in Sustainability Studies from Marylhurst University. Raised near the banks of the Snake River in Oregon’s Treasure Valley, he grew up with a deep appreciation for the land and the farmers who steward it.
