Harish Grama is Vice President of WebSphere product management and development in the Application and Integration Middleware Division of IBM Software Group where he is responsible for the WebSphere portfolio. Harish leads a worldwide team of several thousand employees across 25 locations. He assumed this position in January 2013.

In his 20 years as an IT professional, Harish has held a variety of technical and management positions. Harish brings significant cross-Software Group experience to his role. Prior to his role in WebSphere, he was Vice President of Rational Product Development, Delivery, and Customer Support where he oversaw world wide development and support of IBM Rational’s extensive product portfolio. He also has growth market experience having led the India Software Lab, which develops middleware products for all five Software Group brands.

Harish was also Vice President of InfoSphere Development where he led a world wide development of IBM’s newly announced InfoSphere product portfolio that was a multi hundred million dollar a year investment. Over the years Harish has been involved in defining and bringing key IBM software technologies to the market. He pioneered Workplace Client Technology, IBM’s client offering for a rich desktop experience for large enterprises as well as Small and Medium businesses, and successfully launched the first IBMWorkplace branded offering, Workplace Mail, in the market in 2004.

Harish is a technologist at heart and his early work on operating systems such as the Mach Kernel and the Unix Server on the Mach Kernel resulted in five U.S. Patents.
