Harold D. Reiter is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Herbert Mines Associates. He joined the firm in 1993 as President, became Chief Executive Officer in 1998 and Chairman in 2004.

Mr. Reiter specializes in CEO and board-level positions for large public and privately held retail and consumer product companies. Boards of directors and CEOs regularly call upon him for succession planning and compensation consulting. In 2008, BusinessWeek selected him as one of the "100 Most Influential Headhunters" in the world. Mr. Reiter entered the search business in 1986 at Korn/Ferry International and was named Partner two years later. After leaving the firm in 1990, he joined Butler Capital Corp., a private equity firm with more than 20 portfolio companies. As Recruiting Managing Director, he oversaw management changes in the portfolio companies and participated in due diligence for acquisitions.

Earlier, after graduating from law school, he worked at Arcata Corp., at that time one of the country's largest printers of books, magazines, and catalogs, as a corporate attorney and member of the management staff.

Mr. Reiter is a graduate of the University of Oregon and Lewis & Clark Law School. He is Chairman of the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, & Psychology.
