Harold Ford Jr. served in Congress for 10 years from 1997-2007. Representing Tennessee’s 9th congressional district, Ford was a member of the House Financial Services, Budget, and Education Committees during his tenure in Washington. Recognized for his centrist political stance, he actively participated in both the Blue Dog coalition and the Congressional Black Caucus, consistently advocating for bipartisan cooperation.

After an intensely competitive U.S. Senate race in 2006, Ford transitioned to academia and media, dedicating over a decade to teaching public policy at Vanderbilt and the University of Michigan. His insights have regularly featured on MSNBC where he provides political commentary. Additionally, Ford's experience extends to the financial sector, where he held significant roles at Merrill Lynch for four years and Morgan Stanley for seven years, managing senior client relationships.

Ford holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Michigan Law School. He now resides in New York City with his wife Emily and their two young children, Georgia and Harold III. Ford continues his commitment to public service through his active involvement with Issue One, an organization composed of former senators, governors, and members of Congress focused on political and campaign system reforms.

NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2023 -- PNC Bank announced that Harold Ford, Jr., has been appointed regional president for New York. Ford will be responsible for new business development and deepening relationships with clients and community organizations. Ford has previously served in several roles at PNC, including vice chairman of PNC's Corporate & Institutional Banking business. With local headquarters at 340 Madison Ave., the appointment of a New York regional president builds on PNC’s established presence in the city that spans all of the bank’s lines of business.
