Harold MacDowell, Chief Executive Officer, began his career with TD in 1985 as an assistant project manager. Through the years, he has worked in nearly every corner of TD, including his assistance in the new business start-ups of Facilities Management and the Phoenix branch. On January 1, 2005, Harold became the third CEO of TD since its founding in 1946. Harold was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, graduated from high school in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering Management from Southern Methodist University in 1984. He currently serves on the Methodist Health System Foundation Board, and the UTD Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance Advisory Board. He is a former board member of the Parish Episcopal School, Greater Dallas Chamber, United Way of Greater Dallas, SMU School of Engineering Advisory Board and QUOIN-AGC. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Construction Education Foundation (CEF) that provides educational opportunities to construction craftspeople who want to be masters of their trades.

Harold lives with his wife, Cathy and they have two children and a Westy. His son is a freshman at The University of Texas at Austin, and his daughter, Sara graduated ’17 from Clemson University and is now working in Dallas. When not spending time with family, Harold likes to exercise, read, work in the yard, fish and golf.
