Heath Holt Hayes is a globally recognized award winner for his work spearheading anti-stigma messaging for the 988 Lifeline. Heath owns his own consulting firm specializing in infrastructure and capacity development in mental health and addiction space. Heath has held previous leadership roles in state government, most recently as the Deputy Commissioner for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Heath’s responsibilities focused on providing leadership, administrative oversight and coordination of Oklahoma’s mental health and addiction programming. He served as the primary lead on all public affairs, governmental relations, communication, prevention initiatives, workforce training, certifications, and development, as well as consumer advocacy and community coalitions.

Heath is a nationally recognized leader helping others embrace lived experience with mental health and addiction challenges. Heath has successfully integrated recovery-oriented, holistic, and person-driven continuums of care at the local, state, and national levels. Heath is well known for his ability to inspire and motivate others that continues to change the way people think, access, and deliver mental health and addiction support services by humanizing the approach to healthcare. Heath adopted a sibling set of three children from the Choctaw Nation’s Child Welfare system and they reside in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
