Heather Quinley
Director of National Stewardship Strategy, Duke Energy
Heather Quinley is Director of National Stewardship Strategy at Duke Energy, where she focuses on corporate environmental stewardship, stakeholder engagement, federal environmental policy, and public-private partnerships. Heather manages Duke Energy’s signature stewardship efforts, including a $1.25 million contribution to The Nature Conservancy, which funds research to study adaptation to rising sea levels on North Carolina’s Albemarle Peninsula. She also manages other Duke Energy stewardship relationships through The Duke Energy Foundation and leads roundtable policy discussions with environmental stakeholders at the state and federal level. Heather leads Duke Energy’s EcoPartnership, a collaborative program between the U.S. Department of State and the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission. EcoPartnership links U.S. and Chinese stakeholders in a productive exchange of best practices in the fields of clean energy and sustainability. The four partners include Duke Energy, ENN Group and the cities of Charlotte (U.S.) and Langfang (China). Heather is a Fellow of the Aspen Institute and was a member of the inaugural Catto Fellowship class. Heather earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Science at the University of Virginia and a Master of Public Policy degree at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Heather lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband and their three children.
