Heather Weiner    

Associate General Counsel of the Office of the Governor of Illinois

Heather Weiner is the Associate General Counsel of the Office of the Governor of Illinois. In her role, she works on regulatory reform and the drafting of legislation.

Early in her career, Weiner was an Intern for Senator Mel Martinez, a German Intern for the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress, an Office Assistant for Cooper & Kirk, a Summer Law Clerk for the City of Chicago, and a Law Student Child Advocate for the Young Center for Immigrant Children's Rights, Law. In addition, Heather was a Law Clerk at the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary and Fellow at the Liberty Justice Center. As a Government Affairs Staff Attorney at the Illinois Policy Institute, Heather worked with the formerly incarcerated to help them assimilate back into society.

Weiner attended The George Washington University where she earned an M.A. in International Affairs and German. She earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School​ in 2014.
