Heidi Browning
Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer for the National Hockey League (NHL)
Heidi Browning serves as the National Hockey League's chief marketing officer and executive vice president, a position she has held since October 2016. Her accomplishments in this role have not gone unnoticed, as Sportsnet named her the fourth most powerful woman in hockey in 2020 and included her in Forbes' 30 Most Powerful Women in U.S. Sports in 2018.
With a career spanning over 25 years in marketing, Browning has led digital marketing strategies and solutions for prominent companies such as Fox Interactive Media, Universal McCann, and, prior to her current role, Pandora. In her role with the NHL, she is tasked with executing the League’s marketing campaigns, encompassing strategy, creative development, production, and distribution.
As a pioneer in digital, mobile, and social marketing, Browning consistently identifies and incorporates new marketing technologies and strategies to promote the NHL and broaden its reach across traditional and social channels. This innovative approach to marketing played a significant role in her recognition among the top women in sports and hockey.
Prior to joining the NHL, Browning served as SVP of strategic solutions at Pandora, where she oversaw the development of marketing experiences that created value for fans, bands, and brands. This role further solidified her reputation as a leader in the industry and led her to be recognized by Billboard as one of the top Women in Music.
As SVP of client solutions for Fox Interactive Media/MySpace, Browning evangelized the value of social media in the marketing mix and positioned brand communities as a new way to build an audience, create engagement, and establish a two-way dialogue between consumers and brands. Browning is a proud graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder, where she earned a B.A. in international relations.
