Helen Egger      

Founder, WonderLab & Chair of the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, NYU Langone Health

​Helen Egger serves as the Arnold Simon Professor and Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU Langone Health, where she also holds the position of Director at the Child Study Center. As a child psychiatrist, epidemiologist, and digital health innovator, Egger is dedicated to advancing children’s mental health and leads a department focused on the same.

Dr. Egger is the founder and Co-leader of NYULH WonderLab, a multidisciplinary team that develops digital products for child mental health research and clinical care. Her pioneering contributions extend to the launch of early childhood studies concerning autism and picky eating. Alongside these responsibilities, Egger co-directs the NYULH Digital DesignLab and founded the early childhood mental health start-up, Little Otter. Her previous roles include leading the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and directing the Early Childhood Research Program at the Duke Center for Developmental Epidemiology.

Egger’s academic accomplishments include earning her Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature and her Doctorate of Medicine from Yale University. She currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Study Center.
