Helen Hunt is an Oscar-winning actress, director, and screenwriter who rose to acclaim portraying Jamie Buchman in the sitcom "Mad About You" (1992–1999, 2019), for which she won three Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and four Emmy Awards (Primetime) for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Hunt won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Carol Connelly in the romantic comedy "As Good as It Gets" (1997), and her portrayal of Cheryl Cohen-Greene in "The Sessions" (2012) garnered her an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, plus additional nominations from the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, SAG Awards, Broadcast Film Critics’ Awards, and the BAFTA Awards. Her expansive film career includes roles in "Twister" (1996), "Cast Away" (2000), "What Women Want" (2000), "Pay It Forward" (2000), "Bobby" (2006), "Soul Surfer" (2011), "The Miracle Season" (2018), "How It Ends," "The Night Clerk," and "I See You."

Beyond acting, Hunt has made significant contributions as a director and producer. She made her directorial film debut with "Then She Found Me" (2007), which she also co-wrote, produced, and starred in. She directed and starred in "Ride" (2014) and has helmed episodes of television series like "House of Lies," "This Is Us," "Feud: Bette and Joan," "American Housewife," "The Politician," and the "Mad About You" revival. Most recently, Hunt can be seen as Rainey in "Blindspotting," with season two set to begin production in February 2022. She also played Nancy Campbell in the BBC’s World War II drama "World on Fire."

In addition to her extensive career in film and television, Hunt is a seasoned theater actress with roles in productions such as "Our Town," "Twelfth Night," and "Much Ado About Nothing."
