Cancer Advocate; Chief Executive, Anthony Nolan; Trustee, World Marrow Donor Association & The Mix Charity

Henny Braund is a cancer advocate and the tenured CEO of blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan. She is also a board member of World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) and The Mix Charity.

Braund joined Anthony Nolan as Chief Executive in January 2009. Her key priorities since then have been to implement an ambitious five-year strategy and to develop a new brand. Inspired by the passion and commitment of Anthony Nolan’s staff, Braund works to build on the charity’s rich history and secure it a successful future.

At Anthony Nolan, Braund works with staff at all levels, trustees and supporters, as well as with external stakeholders, such as government departments. She sees it as her role to deliver Anthony Nolan's vision, champion their cause, and to inspire people to help their lifesaving work. Braund was named as the Charity Times Charity Principal of the Year in 2013 and she has steered the charity to a number of awards including Charity Times’ Charity of the Year in 2012.

Previously Resources Director at Shelter, the housing charity, Braund draws on 20 years’ experience in the voluntary sector. At present she is a Trustee for the Small Charities Coalition, but has been Chair for Aids and Housing (Health and Housing). She has also been a Trustee for Thamesreach and Shelter Trading.
