Hilarie Ros Burton was born on July 1st, 1982 in Sterling, Virginia, where she was the eldest of four children (and the only girl). Hilarie has been stated to have grown up in a religious household, where her father was a former Green Beret and her mother was a real estate agent.

Having graduated from Park View High School in 2000, Hilarie graduated with an extensive high school career. This includes her being student council treasurer her sophomore year; vice president her junior year; cheerleading captain, homecoming queen, and student council president in her senior year. She finished her school career by attending New York University and Fordham University.

Hilarie became known after becoming a VJ on MTV’s hit show, Total Request Live (TRL). Having been liked by the producers so much, her guest commenter segment turned permanent. She marked her official television debut on a series by guest starring at herself on Dawson’s Creek.

Following her success on TRL, Hilarie Burton gained her most famous role as Peyton Sawyer in the hit television show One Tree Hill. The series premiered in September of 2003 and became a front runner on the The WB network, which later merged to become The CW. Hilarie continued as a series regular until the end of season six, where her character’s storyline arc was completed. In 2005, Hilarie Burton made her movie debut in Our Very Own. In the years following, she also completed Normal Adolescent Behavior, Solstice, and The List.

Hilarie and Jeffrey were introduced by actor Jensen Ackles, who stars in The CW’s Supernatural, where Jeffrey had a recurring role. Ackles’ now-wife, Danneel Ackles, also co-starred in One Tree Hill with Hilarie. In 2009, Burton began a relationship with actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The couple’s son was born in March 2010. The couple married in 2014. The two welcomed a daughter, George Virginia Morgan, in February of 2018.

As of recently, Hilarie has been seen in episodes of Castle, White Collar, Forever, Hostages, and Extant. Alongside, she serves as a council member on the North Carolina’s Film Council. Currently residing in Pleasant Valley, New York where she and her husband own a 100-acre Dutchess County farm with their children and a range of assorted animals.
