Hilary Mantel        

Author of "Wolf Hall" & "Bring Up the Bodies"

Hilary Mantel is an English writer whose work includes personal memoirs, short stories, and historical fiction. She is the two-time winner of the Man Booker Prize for her best-selling novels, Wolf Hall, and its sequel, Bring Up the Bodies. Mantel was the first woman to receive the award twice.

Wolf Hall has been translated into 36 languages, Bring Up the Bodies into 31 languages, and sales for both books have reached over 5 million copies worldwide. The Royal Shakespeare Company adapted both Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies for the stage to colossal critical acclaim and a BBC/Masterpiece six-part adaption of the novels was broadcast in 2015.

Mantel is the author of fourteen books, including A Place of Greater Safety, Beyond Black, and the memoir Giving Up the Ghost. The third installment to the trilogy, titled The Mirror and the Light, is set to release in 2020.

Mantel was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2006 and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2014.
