Hood

Born in Iran and raised in the United States, Hood shares life experiences that poignantly and humorously speak to issues of diversity and multiculturalism.

Hood attended the University of Pennsylvania and in his senior year won the Cert's National College Comedians Competition. He spent the next three years using stand up comedy to put himself through graduate school at M.I.T. and then, to his mother's chagrin, decided to forsake his expensive degree and pursue comedy full time. He has since become a regular at comedy clubs up and down the East Coast, and a favorite at local colleges and universities. He has opened for Chris Rock, Drew Carey and a host of other nationally recognized acts. He was showcased at the Montreal Comedy Festival and has appeared on Conan O'Brien.

The tragedy in NY and Washington DC has affected this award-winning comedian on many levels and has thrust him into the national spotlight. In addition to being a comic of Middle-Eastern decent, Hood also worked at Lehman Brothers, an investment bank housed in One World Trade. Featured in multiple stories in the LA Times, Hood survived the horrible tragedy of September 11th, only to bring humor and sensitivity to a terrorism-ravaged city.
