Hope Jahren is an award-winning geochemist and geobiologist, renowned for her expertise in stable isotope analysis to examine fossil forests from the Eocene epoch. Over her distinguished career, she has received numerous accolades, including three Fulbright Awards in 1992, 2003, and 2010. She is also the recipient of the James B. Macelwane Medal in 2005 and holds the honor of being the only woman to have received both of the Young Investigator Medals in the Earth Sciences. Currently, Jahren holds the J. Tuzo Wilson Professorship at the University of Oslo's Centre for Earth Evolution and Dynamics.
Jahren is also recognized for her significant contributions to global climate change discussions and literature on science advocacy. She authored the New York Times Notable book "Lab Girl," which earned the National Book Critics Circle Award for Autobiography. Her other notable work includes "The Story of More: How We Got to Climate Change and Where to Go from Here," which has been commended for its compelling voice in science discussions. Her upcoming book "Adventures of Mary Jane" is slated for release on June 25, 2024, by Delacorte Press. Jahren continues to be an influential advocate for science awareness, focusing particularly on supporting women and girls in scientific fields.

Her keynote speeches have earned praise from organizations such as the Medical Library Association and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
