Dr. Howard Fillit is a renowned geriatrician, neuroscientist, and expert in Alzheimer’s disease research and treatment. He is the founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer of the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF), a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating the discovery and development of drugs to prevent, treat, and cure Alzheimer’s disease. Under his leadership, the ADDF has provided critical funding for over 700 drug discovery programs and early-stage clinical trials, helping to advance innovative therapeutic approaches for Alzheimer's and other age-related dementias.
With a career spanning over 30 years, Dr. Fillit has made significant contributions to the fields of aging and neurodegeneration, combining his expertise in clinical practice with groundbreaking research. He has authored more than 350 publications and has served as a professor of Geriatrics, Medicine, and Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Dr. Fillit's unique approach focuses on the intersection of aging and Alzheimer’s, advocating for a holistic and personalized approach to treatment, which includes both drug discovery and lifestyle interventions to promote brain health.
