Hugh Grant is an English actor and film producer. He is best known for his roles in Love Actually, in which he played the U.K.'s Prime Minister, and in Notting Hill, in which he played William Thacker, an independent bookstore owner.

Grant has been known to approach his roles like a character actor, as he often plays eccentric characters. The films and TV shows he has acted in range from sci-fi (2012's "Cloud Atlas") to rom-coms to period dramas like 1995's "Sense and Sensibility."

Grant's work has won him critical acclaim as well as box office success. He has received a Golden Globe, a BAFTA and an Honorary Cesar (France's national film award) for his acting work.
