Humberto Polar started as a copywriter at Lintas in 1986. In 1988, he joined McCann as a creative director for Coca-Cola. In 1995 he won the first Cannes Lion ever in Colombian advertising, with a spot for Tesa glue. In 1996, he started his own shop, Lowe/SSPM, one of the most awarded agencies in Colombia’s history. In 2003, Humberto joined Lowe Mexico as CCO and won the first three Silver Cannes Lions for that agency. After a four-year sabbatical working on digital endevours, he joined FCB in 2012 as CCO of FCB Mayo, which became one of the most awarded agencies in the region with 12 Cannes Lions, among many other awards.

He has served as CCO of FCB Mexico and head of the FCB Creative Council in Latin America since April 2016. Polar has also served as a juror and speaker at Cannes Lions, The One Club’s Creative Week in NYC and also at the Clio, Dubai Lynx, Eurobest, El Sol and El Ojo awards festivals. In 2013, Business Insider named him one of the top 25 creatives (No. 7) in the world. He has served on the jury of important awards festivals including D&AD, Fiap, El Ojo, Wave and others. He has been a juror at Cannes Lions on three occasions: 2006 (Radio), 2012 (Titanium and Integrated) and 2013 (Promo & Activation). As a creative director, he has won 14 Cannes Lions.

Humberto Polar has a remarkable career both in the fields of art and advertising. As an advertising professional, he has a long and successful career in the creative field. His contributions to the creative reputation of the Latin-American region include being a founding member of Lowe-SSP3 in Colombia, being the head of creative at Lowe Latam from Mexico, the creative leader of FCB Mayo in Peru (where he returned for a brief period of 4 years) and head of the FCB Latam Creative Council and now EVP Creative at FCB Mexico. Polar has been a Cannes, Clio and El Sol juror and speaker at Dubai Lynx, One Show Creative Week (New York), Eurobest (Lisbon), El Ojo (Buenos Aires) and Young Creatives Academy at Cannes Lions Festival. He is one of the most awarded creative directors of the region and one of the very few to win Cannes Lions from three different countries. As an artist, he is a renowned visual artist and electronic musician with many solo and collective shows all over America and Europe. In 1999, he founded Pantamuzik (an electronic music label based in Berlin dedicated to latin-american talent). He lives in Mexico City.
