NOViROST Limited provides strategic advisory and corporate finance services to investors in the food, agribusiness, bio-energy and forest products sectors in emerging markets, predominantly in Russia and the CIS.

He was previously Managing Director Agribusiness and Forest Products at Lonrho Plc where he directed a diversity of activities in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. He also served as Chairman of Forestal Mimosa UK, and as director of Beira Corridor Group. He was a key executive in the de-merger of Lonrho Plc, and subsequent launch of Lonrho Africa Plc. Ian subsequently set up and developed the agribusiness and forest products advisory platform for the International Finance Corporation in Moscow covering the Former Soviet Union. He has extensive experience in Russia, Ukraine, the Caucasus and Central Asia in project design and implementation, agribusiness supply chain development, agricultural finance, investment promotion, policy reform, and public-private partnerships.

He is a director of Titan Commodity Fund, a commodities fund, and was previously Senior Advisor to Chiron Capital, a merchant banking firm focusing on Eastern Europe. Ian is a graduate of Columbia University, New York (MBA Finance), the University of South Africa (BComm Law) and Stellenbosch University (BSc Forest Science).
