Ian Poulter is an English golfer and a member of world's top two professional tours.  He plays on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour.

He won his first professional event, the Open de Côte d'Ivoire, on the European Tour's second tier Challenge Tour in 1999.  That promoted him to apply for Qualifying School where he earned a spot on the European Tour.   His first season on tour was phenomenal, and was named the 2000 Rookie of the Year on the European Tour.

After becoming a member of the 2004 European Ryder Cup team, he earned a membership for the PGA Tour.  He became a member in 2005 and is planning to divide his time playing between the two tours.  He has been ranked in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
