Rapper, Actor, Producer, Director & Writer Known for "21 Jumpstreet" and "Straight Outta Compton"

O’Shea Jackson, known by his stage name, Ice Cube, is a rapper, actor, producer, director and writer. Ice Cube initially gained recognition as a member of hip-hop group C.I.A. After that group disbanded, he formed N.W.A with Dr. Dre and Eazy E. N.W.A became one of the founding artists of gangsta rap and Ice Cube was the group’s primary songwriter and performer.

Ice Cube left N.W.A in December 1989, beginning his solo career. Ice Cube’s solo output is known for containing harsh socio-political storytelling, and he has often been cited as an influence on future generations of rappers.

In 1991, Ice Cube began his career in film with a starring role in Boyz n the Hood. He starred as Captain Dickson in 21 Jumpstreet and 22 Jumpstreet. He was a producer for 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, which is based on the story of N.W.A, of which Ice Cube was a prominent member. Straight Outta Compton featured Ice Cube's son, O'Shea Jackson, Jr. playing a younger version of his father.

Ice Cube is also a businessman. He has his own clothing line, Solo by Cube, and he founded the 3 on 3 basketball league Big3, which features many retired NBA players.
