Ignacio Munyo  

Nonresident fellow in the Global Economy and Development program

Ignacio Munyo is a Senior Economist of CERES (Center for the Study of Economic and Social Affairs) since February 2009. CERES is a non-for-profit independent public policy research institution, in Montevideo, Uruguay; specialized in the economic analysis of Latin America. He is also consultant to the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) on global and regional macroeconomic and financial affairs since February de 2009. Ignacio is Lecturer at the University of Montevideo since August, 2009. He is member of National Academy of Economics since 2008 and LACEA since 2009. His areas of interest include Emerging Markets Macroeconomics; Economic Growth and Education and Crime. He obtained his Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2007 where he also completed several Ph.D. courses in Economics during 2007 and 2008. Heis currently working in his Ph.D. thesis at Universidad de San Andrés (Buenos Aires,Argentina).He holds the degree of Licenciado in Economics from the University of the Republic (Montevideo, Uruguay) and he also holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Accounting and Management from the University of the Republic (Montevideo, Uruguay).
