Iman Vellani is a Canadian actress of Pakistani origin known for portraying Kamala Khan, the protagonist of the Disney+ miniseries "Ms. Marvel." She reprised the superhero role for the feature film, "The Marvels." Vellani made history as the first Muslim character to headline a Marvel Studios production.

Her breakout moment came when she was cast as the lead in the Disney+ series "Ms. Marvel,"

Before landing the role of Ms. Marvel, Vellani was relatively new to the acting scene, making her debut in the 2020 short film "The Bed Report."

Vellani was selected as a member of the TIFF Next Wave Committee at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival.

Before being cast in "Ms. Marvel" at the end of her last year of high school, Vellani had planned to attend the Ontario College of Art & Design University with a focus on integrated media.
