Managing Director, Head of Global Internet Investment Banking Credit Suisse

Imran Khan is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the Investment Banking division, based in San Francisco. He is Head of Internet Investment Banking within the Technology Group of the Investment Banking Department. Mr. Khan joined Credit Suisse in May 2011 from JP Morgan Securities, where he had been Head of Global Internet Research since 2004. While at JP Morgan he was one of the top-ranked internet and media equity analysts by Institutional Investor magazine, and was the IPO analyst for companies including Google, Shutterfly, Mercadolibre, Dice, Orbitz, and Shanda. Mr. Khan is responsible for covering companies that produce some of the world’s most disruptive technologies. In the past 18 months, Mr. Khan has advised on internet M&A transactions worth almost $20 billion, including Alibaba Group on the repurchase of a 20% stake from Yahoo! for $7.6 billion, the sale of Toudu to Youku, and Warburg Pincus on the acquisition of Endurance International. Mr. Khan played a leading role in Alibaba’s nearly $8 billion financing, the largest non-LBO private financing for a technology company in history. Additionally, Mr. Khan has been a key member of Credit Suisse teams on the IPOs of companies including Groupon, Bazaarvoice, Taome and Toudu. Mr. Khan is the author of the seminal research publication, “Nothing But ‘Net” and has been a thought leader in the internet and digital media sector for several years. He holds a BSBA degree from University of Denver.
