She is a true American success story, and was described by Senator Marco Rubio as an “Inspirational story for America.” Audiences learn from her hardships and triumphs in life, leadership and education. A former homeless student who was kicked out of her house on Christmas Eve at the age of 16.

Her advice, nuggets and expertise appear in Sarasota Magazine, Tampa Bay Times and the Senator Marco Rubio’s book “American Dreams” about overcoming hardships, being successful in leadership, educational success, and emotional victory for adolescent youth and women in business and ministry. She was named Teacher of the Year in two different counties while publishing 18 books and being an Assistant Principal and business owner in Florida.

National Association of Professional Women, Take Stock in Children, and International Women’s League Association all named India as their Woman of the Year. As a Gates Millennium Scholar and McKnight Doctoral Fellow, she has used her platform to pay it forward as an educational example while helping to raise millions of dollars in scholarships for at-risk students.
