Michel Baars leads as a company director the internationally operating engineering company Search. The engineering company is known in the Netherlands for its pioneering role in sustainable development. It conducts research and provides consultancy and project management in the disciplines of environment, safety and construction quality, advises the large real estate and government parties in the Netherlands and is one of only three officially recognized Cradle to Cradle advisors in the Netherlands.

To prove that sustainable development is not only a future dream, the engineering company built in 2007 and 2008 two ultra-durable offices for own use. Offices with more energy than they consume, which purify water and air and use the latest sustainable technologies. The accumulated knowledge is gathered in sustainability training, workshops and books as "The profit of sustainable construction ', which has more than 10,000 copies sold.

From his years of experience, Michel Baars has seen en worked with all existing views and visions in sustainability en sustainable construction. Moreover, he has a catching way of speaking about it and he knows how to make the abstract visions on the basis of several examples understandable for everyone.

Although Michel Baars is a much sought after speaker for seminars, workshops and sessions inspiration, he spends much of his time on several major projects at home and abroad. Michel Baars studied Environmental Science and Engineering Business. Soon after graduation, the entrepreneurial skills were no longer suppressed and he became managing director at Search.

A relatively young group of people with a no-nonsense mentality and the ambition to develop and exploit entrepreneurship and professionalism. Together with the Managing Board of Search and more than 200 enthusiastic employees, he commits himself for a sustainable Netherlands.
