3x GRAMMY nominated singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress is climbing the country radio charts now with her current single, “Wishful Drinking,” which features critically acclaimed country star Sam Hunt. Called “a moving country-pop ballad that perfectly combines Andress’ soft pitch and Hunt’s husky vocals,” by V Magazine, the track has already earned nearly 70 million streams to date and debuted on Spotify’s Top Songs chart, remaining Top 20 on their Hot Country chart since release.
It follows her 2020 debut album, Lady Like, named “one of the year’s strongest albums” by Associated Press. Co-written and co-produced by Andress, the celebrated LP became one of Billboard’s Top 10 Best Country Albums of the year and set the record as the highest streaming country female debut album of all time upon release. In addition to the Gold-certified title track, Lady Like also features her multi-platinum No. 1 radio single “More Hearts Than Mine,” which made history as the only debut single from a solo female artist to break the Top 20 on country radio in 2019.
Andress was a Best New Artist nominee at the 2020 GRAMMY Awards, making her the only country artist to be nominated in the “Big Four” categories, ultimately tying for last year’s most-nominated country artist. She received two additional nominations for Best Country Album (Lady Like) and Best Country Song (“More Hearts Than Mine”). Shortly after, Amazon Music released the short film “A Lady Like That,” showcasing the unapologetic artist’s unique perspective while on the heels of her first GRAMMYs.
The four-time ACM Awards nominee, three-time CMA Awards nominee and two-time CMT Music Awards nominee also led the country genre as Apple Music’s pick for their Up Next Program in March of 2020 as the first female country artist to do so.
With nearly 800 million global streams, Andress was recently included on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list and selected as one of Variety’s “10 Storytellers to Watch.” Prior to making her artist debut, she wrote songs for multiple cross-genre artists including the iconic Charli XCX hit “Boys.”
