ir. Laetitia Smits van Oyen

Switch the focus from the ‘me and now’ to ‘we and later’.

Laetitia Smits van Oyen was one of the first female entrepreneurs already in the 80’s. In 1986 two years after her graduation at the Technical University in Delft she started with a business partner a company in the ICT-Organization Consultancy, building it in 4 year out to a company with 150 employees based in two locations Amsterdam and The Hague. She sold this company to Getronics NV, stayed in the management for another 4 years and moved to the Caribbean to set up inter alia a Maritime Museum and a curriculum ‘Nederlands’ at the International School.

In 2002 she started the Curacao Dolphin Academy together with the owner of the Curacao SeaAquarium. Laetitia is the first and only woman actually owning a Dolphin Facility. Her strength is to find the niche where she can add value and inspire employees to walk the extra mile. Laetitia is very much driven by social responsibility and that resulted in the end of 2007 in a dispute about collecting dolphins from the wild, 2 years later the dispute ended and she was appointed in the Supervisory Board.

After finalizing a global executive MBA and being shocked by the misbalance in the world between People, Planet and Profit she coaches, consults and inspires leaders and organizations to switch the focus from the ‘me and now’ to ‘we and later’, based on connecting Purpose to People and Performance. By sharing her drive, energy and proven success she wants to make a difference and leave a ‘Planet We’ for the next generation based on sustainable businesses.

Laetitia has an autonomous personality characterized by passion, guts and responsibility, sincerely interested in her environment, what makes her an attractive inspiring Dinner speaker, Lecturer and Chairman of the day.
