Isaac Mizrahi has been a leader in the fashion industry for almost 30 years. Since his first collection in 1987, his designs have come to stand for timeless cosmopolitan style. Mizrahi is the recipient of many accolades including four Council of Fashion Designers of America awards, and he has had the distinct pleasure of dressing some of the most distinguished women in the world, including Audrey Hepburn, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, and First Lady Michelle Obama. Coveted by Hollywood's most stylish, his classic designs are seen on the red carpet worn by such celebrities as Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts, Rihanna, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Meryl Streep.
In December 2009, Mizrahi launched his lifestyle collection, ISAACMIZRAHILIVE!, on QVC, the cable television shopping network. The brand includes all of Mizrahi's favorite things, from handbags to dresses to cheesecakes. He was also the creative director of Liz Claiborne New York, a line sold exclusively on QVC. In 2003, Mizrahi pioneered the concept of high design for the mass retailer with a successful partnership with the Target Corporation.
In addition to designing for the luxury and mass markets, Isaac Mizrahi's passion for the arts has led him to pursue projects in other areas of design. He has designed costumes for the New York Metropolitan Opera, the American Ballet Theater, and the San Francisco Ballet. In 2010, he directed and designed the costumes and sets for a production of "A Little Night Music" for the Opera Theater of St. Louis. Furthermore, Mizrahi was the subject and co-creator of Unzipped, a documentary following the making of his Fall 1994 ready-to-wear collection. The groundbreaking film received the Audience Choice for Excellence award at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. Mizrahi is also the author of How to Have Style.
Isaac Mizrahi's media presence includes guest appearances on Sex and the City, Gossip Girl, Ugly Betty, and Celebrity Jeopardy. Additionally, he has hosted his own talk shows for the Oxygen Network and Style Network, The Isaac Mizrahi Show and ISAAC. Most recently, he could be seen as head judge on Lifetime's Project Runway: All Stars.
