His bestseller, Symptoms, helped patients learn how to recognize and interpret their symptoms and how to determine when to seek professional treatment. The Best Treatmentprovided readers with information needed to make an informed decision about the most effective treatments for a host of medical problems. His other books include, Live Now, Age Later, Dr. Rosenfeld's Guide to Alternative Medicine, and his most recent Dr. Isadore Rosenfeld's 2005 Breakthrough Health : Up-to-the-Minute Medical News You Need to Know.
Dr. Rosenfeld is currently an attending physician at New York Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Rossi Distinguished Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. He was a member of The Practicing Physicians Advisory Council for the Secretary of Health and Human Services and has written a monthly column for Vogue. In addition to maintaining a private practice in Manhattan, Dr. Rosenfeld also served as a consultant to the National Institute of Health on such task forces as arteriosclerosis, sudden death and hypertension. He is the recipient of the first award for achievement in cardiovascular medicine in science by the NY affiliate's American Heart Association.
