Izhar Armony      

General Partner, Charles River Ventures

Izhar Armony, a former captain in the Israeli army, joined Charles River Ventures in 1997 after working as a vice president of marketing for Onyx Interactive, a computer-based training company in Israel. He has made a name for himself investing in cloud and enterprise software companies including messaging service Yammer (acquired by Microsoft in 2012 for $1.2 billion), marketing software company HubSpot and virtual assistant Vlingo (acquired by Nuance in 2011). He was the lead investor in the Series A round for patent-risk solution provider RPX (IPO 2011) and also is behind CRV's investment in Bill Gates-backed nuclear power company TerraPower. He sits on the boards of TerraPower, Capriza, Cybereason, Driftt, Sense Labs, and Xamarin, and also invests in 24M Technologies. In his free time, Armony competes in long-range, off-road rally races in the Atacama and Sahara deserts. His last race was in Greece in May 2014.
