Jay Robert Pritzker, known as J. B. Pritzker, is an American businessman, philanthropist and beginning in 2019, a politician, as the 43rd Governor of Illinois. He is a private business owner based in Chicago and a co-founder of the Pritzker Group. Pritzker ran the Pritzker Group, a private equity firm, with his brother Anthony until March 2017. The Pritzker Group owns and runs industrial firms, particularly in the packaging sector. It also has a stake in Elon Musk's rocket firm SpaceX. The firm was an investor in startup Dollar Shave Club, which was purchased by Unilever for $1 billion in July 2016.

J.B. is also a member of the Pritzker family. His uncle Jay Pritzker (d.1999) founded Hyatt Hotels and his father Donald (d. 1972) managed and developed the Hyatt Hotel chain. J.B. has an estimated personal net worth of $3.5 billion. His sister Penny Pritzker, also a billionaire, served as U.S. Commerce Secretary under President Obama from 2013 to early 2017.

Pritzker was the Democratic nominee for governor of Illinois in the 2018 gubernatorial election. He defeated Republican incumbent Bruce Rauner in the general election on November 6, 2018. As governor, he holds more private wealth than any other governor in U.S. history and is the second-wealthiest U.S. politician to have ever held office, after Michael Bloomberg.

His charitable foundation supports nonprofits primarily in Chicago, including the Ounce of Prevention Fund, which provides early childhood education.
