Jack Halberstam is an American academic and author, primarily recognized for his contributions to the field of feminism and queer studies. His work, which predominantly explores queer and transgender identities within popular culture, has been influential in shaping contemporary understandings of these subjects. Halberstam's most notable work, "Female Masculinity," was nominated for the Lambda Literary Award in Lesbian Studies and received the Judy Grahn Award for Lesbian Nonfiction. Over the years, Halberstam has written multiple books, including "Skin Shows: Gothic Horror and the Technology of Monsters," "In A Queer Time and Place," "The Queer Art of Failure," and "Gaga Feminism: Sex, Gender, and the End of Normal."
