Since she was very young, her beauty has been noticed, and she has worked as a model for several campaigns. Discovered by a producer who heard her doing a voice-over, she started working at WSKQ's syndicated morning show, "El Vacilon de la Mañana" ("Good Times in the Morning"). She soon received an offer from WRMA in Miami, which she accepted. Guerrido settled down in Miami and joined the HBC Radio Company. After working at "Romance" for a year, she was given the opportunity to co-host a radio program with the duties of broadcasting news and traffic conditions. Then, Jackie received her own music show at WRTO and simultaneously, worked as traffic reporter on TV for Miami's Telemundo affiliate.

Univision, the No. 1 Spanish Network on television, took notice of Guerrido and made her an offer to do the weather report at "Noticias 23 Al Amanecer." She had also studied meteorology at the University of Miami, and started to present the weather on "Despierta America" ("Wake up America"), which is one of the most popular television programs among the Hispanic community in the United States. She is also the weather anchor for the afternoon news-magazine show "Primer Impacto" ("First Impact"). She is involved in the production and presentation of various occasional segments as well, including "Hola Hollywood," in which she's interviewed many movie stars -- John Travolta, Tobey McGwire, Tyler Perry and many more.

In 2004 Guerrido was named "Good Will Ambassador" of the Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. She was also name "hottest weather woman" in Japan. In 2010, Guerrido participated in "Mira Quien Baila!," a reality show, which aired on Univision in the United States and is the American/Spanish-Speaking version of "Dancing with the Stars." The show's finale was on November 21, 2010 and Guerrido came in second place with more than 9 million votes. Guerrido was awarded $10,000 dollars, which she donated to the "Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos," a domestic violence shelter. In 2012 she was selected to be part "100 Hispanic Miami," a book that highlights the work and career of 100 professionals who have contributed to the city's development in different fields.

Guerrido works with charities and foundations including the Catholic Guardian Society and Home Bureau, Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos, Fundacion Alas a la Mujer and Eva Longoria's charity, PADRES Contra El Cancer. In April 2012, Guerrido launched a clothing line under her name Jackie G Jeans. The line has been a hit, and she is working her third collection. "I’m so overjoyed with this great opportunity that has presented itself. These jeans are designed for all occasions for women like me, who work day in and day out to get ahead," Guerrido explained.
