Actor and singer Jake Epstein was born on January 16, 1987 in Toronto. His mother is an award-winning writer of children’s stories and his father is a lawyer. His sister shares his interests and talents, as she is also an actress and jazz singer.

Jake Epstein was educated at Claude Watson School for the Arts, and later attended Earl Haig Secondary School. While there, he participated in several school plays and musicals. He was in a production of Cabaret, until he landed roles in TV series like The Zack Files and Quints. He was also on the TV movie Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire, but he rose to fame as Craig Manning on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Epstein then moved on to professional theatre, appearing in the Soulpepper Theatre Company production of Our Town. He also made an appearance on the 2007 movie Charlie Bartlett. He was in the First National Tour of Spring Awakening in 2009, as well as a Ross Petty production of Cinderella at Elgin Theatre. He then starred in the Canadian series Being Erica.

In addition to doing stand-up comedy in 2010, Jake Epstein has since pursued his passion for music, being a member of bands like Mind the Gap and Funkasaurus Rex. He also went on to appear in Ross Petty's Beauty & The Beast: The Savagely Silly Family Musical.
