Jalak Jobanputra is the Founder and Managing Partner of Future Perfect Ventures (FPV), an early stage venture capital fund she launched in 2014 to invest in decentralized technologies with a focus on crypto assets and blockchain technology. FPV has invested in over 50 companies and is currently investing out of its third fund.

Jobanputra has extensive expertise across the blockchain, investment and development sectors, and is passionate about pioneering diversity in Web3. This passion led her to found the Collective Future in 2018, an organization to foster diversity and inclusion in the nascent blockchain sector.

Prior to starting FPV, Jobanputra was the Director of Emerging Market Mobile Investments at Omidyar Network, an impact fund started by Pierre Omidyar, co-founder of eBay. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President at the New York City Investment Fund, a private economic development fund, where she led technology and digital media venture investments. While there, Jobanputra also spearheaded the formation of NYCSeed, a fund dedicated to funding early stage tech entrepreneurs in NYC, and helped launch the Fintech Innovation Lab.

Before NYCIF, she was a Principal at New Venture Partners, an early stage venture fund that commercialized technology out of corporate labs. At NVP, she founded and served as interim CEO of Real Time Content, a personalized video ad platform. From 1999-2003, Jobanputra was at Intel Capital in Silicon Valley, where she invested in data center, enterprise software, internet and digital media startups. She began her career in media, telecom and tech investment banking at Lehman Brothers and Broadview in NYC and London.

Jobanputra is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Economics (concentration in Finance) from The Wharton School and a B.A. in Communications from the Annenberg School. She received her MBA from Kellogg.

She has been awarded Institutional Investor’s Most Powerful Fintech Dealmakers, was cited as a “Top 5 Investor Powering the Blockchain Boom” and was awarded Microsoft’s VC Trailblazer Award for “her early and bold” investments in the blockchain sector. Crunchbase has noted FPV as one of the top VC funds in blockchain “before it was cool”. She has spoken at global conferences and on news media including the Milken Global Conference, Dutch Development Bank/FMO Annual Meeting, The Economist Buttonwood Gathering, SALT, Bloomberg, MIT, SXSW, CNBC, and Yahoo Finance.
