James Dashner          

Author of Many Children's Fantasy Series and Adult Books, Including "The Maze Runner" Series

James Dashner is a child and young adult fiction author. Dashner's work is typically within the adventure, survival, and science-fiction genres.

He is best known for his series such as The Maze Runner series, The 13th Reality series, The Jimmy Fincher Saga series, The Infinity Ring series, and The Mortality Doctrine series.

The Maze Runner, his most widely distributed book, reached 100 weeks' standing on the New York Times Best Seller list for Children's Series after the release of the motion picture adaptation of the book. As well, His 2008 novel The Journal of Curious Letters, first in the series, was one of the annual Borders Original Voices picks.

As an award-winning author, Dashner has been recognized with the Whitney Award for Best Youth Fiction for The 13th Reality and the ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults and the Young Reader's Choice Award for intermediate grades for The Maze Runner.

Dashner is a graduate of Brigham Young University in Utah, where he received a master's degree in accounting.
