James F. O’Neil serves as chief executive officer and president of Quanta Services. In this position, he oversees the company’s operations and strategic initiatives across the electric power, natural gas, renewable energy, telecommunications, broadband cable and wireless industries.

He joined Quanta in 1999 and most recently served as president and chief operating officer. Throughout his tenure, O’Neil has had responsibility for various initiatives including: the company’s strategy; commercial and industrial operations; internal audit; and merger and acquisition initiatives, including oversight of the acquisition and integration of InfraSource, Inc., the company’s largest acquisition to date.

Prior to joining Quanta Services, O’Neil spent 19 years with Halliburton where he held various positions that encompassed responsibility for its Gulf of Mexico operations; deepwater development; and health, safety and environment.

He received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Tulane University in 1980.
