New York Times Best-Selling Author of Suspense

James Grippando is the winner of the Harper Lee Prize and the New York Times bestselling author of 30 novels of suspense, including the popular series featuring Miami criminal defense attorney Jack Swyteck. His novels are enjoyed worldwide in 28 languages.

“Code 6” is his latest novel, a thriller set in the modern world of Big Data, and the story of Kate Gamble, an aspiring playwright developing her first play. That play is “Watson,” which is an actual play written by Grippando that premiered on stage in 2019. "Code 6" includes scenes from the actual play, and the published script is now available for a unique companion reading experience.

Grippando is a practicing attorney with a wide array of clients, including the winners of more than 30 Tony Awards. He is also an adjunct professor of Law & Literature at the University of Miami School of Law.

Grippando and his wife Tiffany have been married since the publication of his first novel and have three children. They live in south Florida with two cats and a golden retriever named Atlas who has no idea he’s a dog.
