James has lived and taught Science and Mathematics in out-state Missouri for 14 years. He is a member of the PLC Leadership Team for Stoutland High School and is pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Leadership through William Woods University.

He has pursued interests in Educational Technology and alternative environmental practices specifically in anaerobic digestion (AD). James wrote a paper for the BioEnergy 98 - Expanding Energy Partnerships Conference and presented his paper at the conference. The article was published in the proceedings of that conference.

He lives at the Lake of the Ozarks with his wife and three sons.
