Pickens has given sales talks and seminars all over the world to large companies such as; Disney, IBM, Sheraton, Marriot, Hilton, Westin, Mirage, GM and Ford. His audio books are in-flight on American Airlines. He has given seminars in France, Mexico, Germany, Switzerland, Canary Islands and BBC in England. He is one of a handful to have book signings at Harrods. Pickens is also the only man that has spoken before the Women’s Congress of Europe. James has been featured on countless talk shows across the world.

James was born in New Orleans and educated at Rogers High School, Arkansas and University of Arkansas. After serving in Vietnam he formed his own business, becoming a multi-millionaire at the age of 37. He is one of America’s most successful entrepreneurs. One of his top seller’s, The Art of Closing a Deal has been translated to 24 languages and is sold in 59 Countries. James also wrote: The Closers, More Art of Closing any Deal and Cleopatra’s Secrets of Negotiation and Persuasion for Women. All the books are world wide and have sold over 7 million copies.
