James Van Der Beek is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Dawson Leery in the WB series "Dawson's Creek". He played a fictionalized version of himself on the cult ABC sitcom "Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23", starred in "CSI: Cyber" as FBI Special Agent Elijah Mundo, and as Matt Bromley on the FX drama "Pose". His film roles include Varsity Blues (1999) and The Rules of Attraction (2002).

Van Der Beek is one of the celebrities competing on the 28th season of Dancing with the Stars. He was paired with professional dancer Emma Slater. Van Der Beek was eliminated in the semi-finals, finishing in 5th place.

He has won several awards, including two MTV Awards and one Teen Choice Award.
