ane Glenn Haas is a multi-media personality whose weekly column, “Our Time” deals with issues, attitudes and personal challenges facing people 50 and older.

The column is distributed nationally to 300 newspapers through the Knight-Ridder Tribune Syndicate.

She is a journalist specializing in aging issues for the Orange County (CA) Register and she is a fellow at the Institute of Gerontology at California State University, Fullerton, researching lifestyle and health issues of women 50-plus.

She also is the author of Time of Your Life: Why Almost Everything Gets Better After Fifty (Seven Locks, 2000) and is the founder of WomanSage, a multi-media company producing a Web site, monthly newsletter, seminars and conferences for women 50 and older.

Haas is a Southern California television personality, host of her own cable network program and frequent guest and commentator on Los Angeles, Orange County and San Diego County television stations. She also writes and produces one-minute commentaries for television and developed, wrote and anchored the PBS special: “Alzheimer’s: A California Perspective.”

She has been recognized as one of the nation’s most influential journalists writing about aging issues. Twice nominated for a Pulitzer, she was awarded the 2001 Hugh Downs Award for Excellence in Aging Reporting from the International Longevity Center. Her numerous recognitions include the American Society on Aging 2000 Media Award and the American Medical Writers Rose Kushner Award, the Alzheimer’s Association Rosemary Award and the C. Everett Koop American Heart Association Award.

Haas travels nationally as Creativity Workshop Leader for AARP. Other recent appearances have been at Columbia University School of Journalism; El Camino College commencement address; Poynter Institute National Writer’s Conference; Del Webb communities.
