Jane Velez-Mitchell is a bestselling author and award winning television journalist, who hosted her own show, Jane Velez-MitchellI, on HLN until 2014. She has been featured on many shows including Nancy Grace and Larry King Live.

Jane has reported on many high-profile events including the Michael Jackson trial as well as for the nationally syndicated Warner Brothers/Telepictures program Celebrity Justice.

She was previously a reporter and anchor for WCBS-TV in New York City and KCAL-TV in Los Angeles, for which she has won numerous awards, including two Emmys. Her HLN show won her a Genesis Award from the Humane Society of the United States in 2010 after previously winning two with Celebrity Justice. In addition to other accolades, Jane wrote an award-winning documentary, Dancing Through Life.

Jane released her first nonfiction book in 2007, entitled Secrets Can Be Murder: What America's Most Sensational Crimes Tell Us About Ourselves. She followed it up with New York Times bestseller iWant: My Journey From Addiction and Overconsumption to a Simpler Honest Life in October 2009, chronicling her fight with alcoholism, coming out as a lesbian and finding a happier, healthier, meaningful life. Her latest book, Addict Nation: An Intervention for America was released in 2011.
