The sisters tapped into their Korean heritage to produce a retail line of marinades like the sauces they made for friends and family.

SISTERS ANN AND JANET CHUNG are really excited that their chingoos* love Korean barbecue - it's what inspired them to start We Rub You.**

In the summer of 2011 they setup a Korean BBQ stand at Brooklyn Flea's Smorgasburg in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. After all the encouragement & support from We Rub You fans and several sold out weekends, they took a saucy plunge and began bottling their authentic Korean BBQ marinades.

We Rub You marinades start with a truly traditional recipe and authentic flavors. There is no added MSG, HFCS or artificial colors or preservatives. It's Korean sauce made in the USA.

While the flavors are authentic, the creative possibilities are endless. Ranging from a traditional Korean BBQ of grilled meat tucked inside of a lettuce leaf with kimchi and rice or getting as imaginative as a bulgogi taco or a vegan dish of spicy Korean barbecued tofu salad!

Ann and Janet make marinades that make Korean BBQ an easy and creative DIY process for their friends. Now their chingoos can make Korean BBQ their own!

They tested the business idea in 2011 by selling sandwiches with Korean barbecue sauce at outdoor food stands.

Response was positive, and they created a bottled line that includes "original" and "spicy" varieties.

They know competition in the grocery aisle is tough — "The cooking sauce category is vast," Chung Mellman says — but they hope to appeal to Americans' taste for ethnic fare.

"We have a feeling Korean food will be the next Mexican food in the U.S.," she says.

As for their quirky brand name, it's their own wordplay on what a Korean accent would do to "We love you."
