Janet Folger Porter

Pro-Life Speaker, President & Founder of Faith2Action

Janet L. Porter is President and Founder of Faith2Action. She is best known for her anti-abortion and anti-LGBT activism in the United States. Faith2Action, founded in 2003, is a far-right Christian ministry that comprises the nation's largest network of pro-family organizations.

Prior to founding Faith2Action in 2003, she was the legislative director for Ohio Right to Life for 1988 to 1997. At Ohio Right to Life, she helped lobby for the first partial-birth abortion ban in the United States, which was later upheld by the Supreme Court in Gonzales v. Carhart. She then served as National Director of the Center for Reclaiming America from September 1997 to 2002.

The original Ohio "Heartbeat Bill" (House Bill 493) was authored by Porter, who launched the first version of it in Ohio in 2011. Now introduced in 11 states and passed by legislatures in four more, Porter’s bill is supported by conservatives seeking to mount a challenge to Roe v Wade.

Previously, Porter hosted a radio show, also called Faith2Action, before it was cancelled in 2010. She also hosted "Reclaiming America with Janet Folger," a 60-second commentary that aired daily on 550 radio and TV stations and received the National Religious Broadcaster's Genesis Award, as well as the Excellence In Media Silver Angel Award.

In 2000, Porter authored the book, True to Life, her life story and dramatic lessons learned in the pro-life movement. Her second book, :30 Seconds to Common Sense, featuring a compilation of her Award-winning radio and TV commentaries, was published in 2001. Porter's newest books are, What's a Girl to Do? While Waiting for Mr. Right (2004), The Criminalization of Christianity (2005), and Truth to Go (2008), that she co-wrote with F2A Communications Director Ross Conley. Her newest book, A Heartbeat Away, is set to release in 2020.

Porter has received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Christian Humanitarian Service from the South Florida Bible College and Theological Seminary. She graduated with honors from Cleveland State University with a Masters degree in Communication.
